However before you join any type of mentoring program may want to consider what you are getting in return. Here are a few thoughts on that.

1. Knowledge. This is the primary thing you are looking for from a coach. You want someone who can teach you to do what they have already done.

There are many excellent mentors on the Internet today. Most of them teach from a position of experience. This is better than somebody who is just teaching based on theory. Often if you can learn just a small amount of what they already know it can make a huge difference in your own personal success.

2. Motivation. Because of the ups and downs of running an Internet business sometimes people do need motivation. A success coach can be right there to pick you up when you are feeling a little bit down.

Regular meetings with your mentor will help keep you on track and hold you accountable for the effort you are putting in. This can come in handy on days when you do not feel like working, but you know that you must because your coach will be checking in on you.

4. Income. It is difficult to build a successful Internet business today because of all the competition. People who use mentoring and coaching are more likely to succeed in developing a large income from it.

The amount of money you make should be a goal that is set by you and reaffirmed by your mentor. However it is not unreasonable to think you can earn more as you develop the skills you learned from your Internet marketing coach.

One thing you can count on is after you are successful you will want to occasionally stay in touch with your coach and mentor. This is similar to athletes in sports to maintain relationships with their own coaches long after they stopped playing. This is a special bond if you’ve found the right type of coach who can help mentor you to the success level you are working towards.
